I request a Glee spoiler: I want to know what Sue will be up to next season since near the end of last season, Sue said she wouldn’t be going after the New Directions anymore, but I don’t really believe her. Do you know what she’ll be up to next season? — Sam
Mostly harassing the winner of The Glee Project, according to what showrunner Ryan Murphy told Tim Stack late last month. What he didn’t address? The identity of the one artist who will be the subject of a tribute episode next season. Personally, one of the few people I could get behind for a full-episode treatment has already popped up in the rumor mill: Cher. We even asked her about it at the premiere of Zookeeper earlier this week, to which she replied coyly after giving us a long pause and a wicked smile, “You will have to just watch and find out. I’d be flattered. Wouldn’t everyone?” What do you think of a Cher tribute episode, Glee fans? More importantly, which female cast member would best rock a fishnet body stocking? (Side note: I’ve ALWAYS wanted to put a picture of Cher in Spoiler Room. Life goal #120: Done.)
Question: Someone’s been stingy with the Glee scoop of late. And that someone would be you. —Lisa
Ausiello: Someone’s about to make up for lost time. And that someone would be me. I heard through the grapevine — the grapevine in this case being the red carpet at the premiere of Glee: The 3D Concert Movie — that Quinn gets back in touch with her inner bad girl when Season 3 starts. Also, word around town — the town in this case being Westwood, which is where the premiere of Glee: The 3D Concert Movie was held — is that several castmembers will be taking a crash course in tap-dancing in preparation for the Sept. 20 season opener.
Any Glee-scoop would be much appreciated! -- Becks
Remember Tina's random crying scenes last season? There's probably more on the way as Tina and Mike Chang will deal with being a year apart. Mike's thinking about graduation, while Tina, a junior, is stuck in school one more year. At the Glee 3-D movie premiere in Los Angeles, Jenna Ushkowitz contemplated the possible drama and her reaction to seeing some of her fellow cast members don their cap and gowns. "I don't even want to think about it. I will cry so hard. Those are my best friends," she says. "Right now we're just trying to get through 22 episodes. That's so far in the future for us."
SUNDAY UPDATE: suspect all non-Gleeks now can relax since Fox will never make another Glee 3D unless a few execs at 20th and 20th TV undergo lobotomies. The concert film opened in only 6th place Friday with $2.7M, then Saturday plunged -37% for just $1.7M which took the pic out of the Top 10 completely. Its $5.7M weekend from 2,040 theaters would be humiliating and downright disastrous if it hadn't been made for such a low budget -- around $9.5M to $9.7M, according to Ryan Murphy, who emailed me: "That's compared to the Bieber film which was around $14 million I believe. So the risk [was] very very low. No matter what it will be a money maker for Fox. I am proud of it." Murphy, who produced but did not direct, was as befuddled as Fox TV and film execs why the pic didn't do better, especially because it was given an 'A+' CinemaScore from audiences under age 25. "The CinemaScores were excellent. They don't sync up with the results," one Fox TV exec emailed me. Fox thought the film would at least reach double-digits, crack the Top 5 for the weekend, and perform respectably like the other concert movies. But the studio wasn't really sure what to make of the soft tracking despite fan-favorite castmembers like Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Chris Colfer, Chord Overstreet, and The Warblers. READ MORE
Thanks for the Glee scoop on Rachel and Finn, but I really want to hear about Mike and Tina. — Deb
NATALIE: As you've probably heard, we're going to meet Mike's parents this season! "We're going to see how they feel about Tina not being in a traditional Asian family, because she was adopted," says Jenna Ushkowitz. There are also tentative plans to meet Tina's family this season. Ushkowitz says she'd love Grey's Anatomy's Sandra Oh to guest-star as a relative.
Question: Just wondering if you had any info about Kurt and Blaine on this season’s Glee. I hear they’re not breaking up, but I’d like to know what they are up to. —Allie
Ausiello: Kurt spends a decent portion of the season premiere urging his teenage dream to transfer to McKinley. Given Darren Criss’ new series regular status, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before Blaine gives into the pressure.
Question: Do you have any hints on what’s to come on the new season of Glee, especially for Santana? —Ghislaine
Ausiello: Santana is made captain of the Cheerios, but she’s a little bent out of shape when Sue informs her that she’s got a co-captain — and that person’s not too keen on sharing either.
Question: Is Tina a senior on Glee? I’m reading conflicting reports. —Allison
Ausiello: According to Tina’s portrayer Jenna Ushkowitz, she’s a junior. Her boyfriend Mike Chang, however, is a senior — and that could cause some problems for the couple. “I’m definitely excited to see a little bit of conflict,” says Ushkowitz. “I’m excited to see how they deal with that.”
Question: Do you have any idea how Glee‘s Sam Evans is going to be written off the show? Witness Protection Program? Eaten by dinosaurs? —Pinsleric
Ausiello: The answer is C) His family moves out of state… apparently to Indiana!
Question: Will Glee finally introduce Rachel’s gay dads this season? —Justin
Ausiello: No immediate plans that I know of. However, it appears producers are making good on their promise to give Mike Chang a mom and dad. The show is quietly casting an Asian couple — stylish wife, conservative dad — to potentially recur this season.
A few small bits of casting news in that there is a 14 year old boy called Pony coming up who is probably recurring and needs to be able to swim.
Also there will be three "Strange" roles of Mr. Shor, Mr Baroody & Mr. Danforth who make up three severe looking men in dark suits from "The Rotary Club." They also all own a funeral home. Jolly! Source: SpoilerTV
Question: Do you have any hints on what’s to come on the new season of Glee, especially for Santana and Brittany, separately or together? —Ghislaine
Ausiello: The word around McKinley is that Brittany will make a serious run for class president. And in potentially related news, I hear there’s an intriguing/hilarious story behind this photo, and we’ll find out what it is in Episode 2.
Question: Beggars can’t be choosers, so I’ll take any Glee scoop you can spare. —Colin
Ausiello: A new glee club provides fresh competish for New Directions — and this particular group is much closer to home. Source: tvline.com
