Ausiello: Your intuition, like all of ours, would be spot-on. “Raylan has got a lot of s–t to deal with” during Season 4′s final hour, says Timothy Olyphant. “Winona is in trouble, and he’s going to have to deal with it by making some tough decisions.” All told, the actor-producer said of his just-renewed FX hit, “I’m really proud of this season, and I think it’s a nice finale.” (For Joelle Carter’s take on the finale, scroll down for the latest episode of Spoiler Alert!.)

      "Justified":
      Spoiler anzeigen
Boyd and Ava still have Delroy's body looming over their heads -- and it comes to a head in the season finale. We don't want to give away too much, but suffice to say that everyone's favorite Kentucky "Bonnie & Clyde" couple is in for some rocky roads ahead.

    • I'm so glad Justified will be back next year. Got any early scoop on Season 5? — Evan
      Spoiler anzeigen
ADAM: Walton Goggins seems pretty confident that, after Ava's arrest, we'll see more of heartbroken Boyd next season, despite his new heroin partnership with Wynn Duffy. "He has everything that he's ever wanted, except the only thing that really mattered to him," Goggins says. "To be away from Ava is his worst nightmare." So, will Ava's sad fate inspire Boyd to turn his back once and for all on his outlaw ways? Probably not. Then again, Goggins says, "In the life that he's chosen and the price that he's ultimately paying, I think this is a man who will probably be disgusted with himself. I don't know that he's ever felt that before."

Ausiello: Much like Nicky Augustine, it’s dead. “It’s our intent to move off of it, to a certain extent,” confirmed exec producer Graham Yost, before nothing that we may see Max Perlich’s mafia heir Sammy Tonin again. “We really like [him]. There could be fun stuff there, but that’s not something we’re driving toward. [But] if something materialized, it would be a good story.”

      Spoiler anzeigen
Ausiello: For Season 5, the FX drama is going back to the Cuckoo Crime Family From Hell conceit popularized by the Bennetts of Season 2 (RIP, Mags). This time around, we’ll be introduced to the white trash Florida-based Crowe clan, led by the sexy, charismatic and ruthless fortysomething patriarch Dale. Officially, the Crowes run a gator farm. Unofficially, they deal drugs and murder people and stuff. Dale’s inner circle includes sister Wendy (the public face of the family) and younger brother Danny (described as a romantic sociopath). • Question: Any idea how long Ava will be behind bars on Justified? —Mario
      Spoiler anzeigen
Ausiello: At least through Episode 4, which is when we’ll meet “Albert,” a charming-yet-creepy male guard at the Harlan County Jail. A real creep, he abuses his ounce of power to demean and take advantage of the female inmates — Ava included.

    • ‘JUSTIFIED’ SEASON: THE CROWES SWOOP IN
      Spoiler anzeigen
Justified fans, you’ve probably heard the news, but in case you haven’t: THE PREMIERE DATE HAS LANDED! But as you mark Jan. 7 on your calendars, allow me to tell you more about the season. Rather, let executive producer Graham Yost:

“The big thing would be Dewey Crowe, our beloved Dewey, who we didn’t even see last year — it’s a big season for him,” Yost says. “It’s also his family — these Crowes from Florida come up and cause a lot of problems for Raylan and Boyd.” And yes, says Yost, they are this season’s big bad. (Michael Rapaport, who is playing Daryl Crowe, Jr., Alicia Witt, and Amy Smart are among the guest cast we’ll see.)

As for Raylan, the season picks up a few months after last season’s finale — so, yes, the baby has arrived! “That has a profound effect on him,” teases Yost. “So what does he want to do going forward? And the baby is not in Kentucky. So what is he going to do? And that’s one of the big questions of the season.”

The other? Can Boyd get Ava out of the pokey! “As much as we don’t want to repeat anything done by Orange Is the New Black or…Sons, we do have a woman in prison. So we have stories about that. That’s going to be her big story this season.”

ADAM: The Season 5 premiere is a very bloody affair, especially when Boyd and his new partner Wynn Duffy have to make a trip to Detroit to settle a beef about a drug shipment gone wrong. On a lighter note, Raylan's living arrangements get a serious upgrade (bye-bye, barroom) and he and Winona share a very nice moment. But Raylan's happiness might be fleeting, especially when Art begins digging into exactly how Nicky Augustine met his demise last season.

      PREVIOUSLY ON... |
Ava was prison-bound for the murder of Delroy, Nicky Augustine's reign of terror came to an end in a hail of bullets, and Winona's was still with child.

COMING UP NEXT | Season 5 will introduce us to Dewey Crowe's extended crime family, and his brood is every bit as dysfunctional and deplorable as the Bennetts of Season 2. But there's one major difference between the two crazy clans: Whereas Mags' bloodline "had a history in the region," Dewey's Florida-based kin (led by Michael Rapaport's ruthless Dale) "are an invasive species," notes exec producer Graham Yost. An unhinged-as-ever Boyd, meanwhile, is doing "everything he can to get Ava out of jail," a pursuit that "forms the story for the first five episodes" and beyond, notes Yost, who promises that Ava's struggle behind bars will be less Orange is the New Black and more, well, Justified (translation: expect a healthy dose of jailhouse savagery). And there's big news for Raylan on the personal front. Not only does he meet a special new lady (an insightful, shrewd social worker played by Amy Smart), but he's finally a father. Yep, when the new season picks up, Winona will have already given birth to a healthy baby
      Spoiler anzeigen
. But don't expect a reunion between mom and dad to follow, partly because Natalie Zea has other commitments (including Fox's The Following) and partly because, as Yost points out, "They know being together is just too hard."

    • Got any juicy Justified tidbits? — Martin
      Spoiler anzeigen
Boyd is pretty lonely this season. Ava's in jail and most of his former allies are gone. Couple that with the unexpected trickiness of running his new heroin empire, and you have a Boyd on the edge. "He's just barely treading water," Walton Goggins says. "He's kind of a dog wagging his tail; he's just chasing it around and around. It's a very dangerous place for a person like Boyd to be." That will become even truer when he learns that someone very close to him has betrayed him.
